Premise

As trainers, we will inevitably encounter “difficult learners” who put up dispositional barriers and remain stuck despite our best intentions and efforts. In this program, we take a blended approach to hack the mystery behind the attitudes and perceptions of these learners. Gaining insights of their coping patterns and coming up with practical strategies to address their learning needs.

Description

While we may control the knowledge and skills to impart to learners, the readiness and attitudes of some learners can sometimes baffle and rile us, derailing the best of our plans. This program aims to equip Adult Educators and Workplace Trainers with insights and practical strategies to manage the dispositional barriers of learners.
In the program, we will learn about the “6 Toxic Attitudes towards Learning” and look at how the “Think, Feel, Act Cycle” can reinforce these attitudes. Recognising emotions in the learning process will help us understand why learners adopt each of the “4 Coping Patterns that Impede Learning” and develop strategies that “Set the stage for learning”.
Harnessing the benefits of a digitally blended platform, we strive to draw from the collective experience of the community of practitioners, adopting a non-prescriptive and collective learning approach.
The structure of the program consist of a 2-hour session for onboarding and face-to-face facilitation of learning. This is followed by 12 days of online learning, in which you can control the time, pace, and place of your learning.
