Mastering basic crochet skills through a small fun project as a therapeutic tao of achieving a sense of satisfaction, accomplishment and thus inner happiness.

Description

"In an age of speed, I began to think, nothing could be more invigorating than going slow." Pico Iyer, The Art of Stillness. In this fast moving world that we live in, taking time to slow down and crochet has substantial mental and spiritual benefits.

It is a proven scientific fact that knitting and crochet are therapeutic in nature. Dr. Herbert Benson, a pioneer in mind/body medicine and author of “The Relaxation Response,” says that the repetitive action of needlework can induce a relaxed state like that associated with meditation and yoga.

This hands-on crochet workshop aims to not only teach you to crochet, practice hand-eye coordination, sustained focus but also the life skills of patience and determination as well.

Come join us and experience how learning to crochet can help improve your mood, mind and body.

stitch with ping

Welcome to "stitch with ping", where we learn how to crochet and knit beautiful gifts for our friends and ourselves.

Crochet and knitting have brought much happiness to me. I was very fortunate to have my Primary school teacher Mrs Chan as my instructor. She patiently guided me through countless of "crochet language" patterns. But once I overcome the initial learning curve, there is no turning back. My skills for these craft blossom during my stay in New York and London where I constantly took part in yarn craft activities and workshops.

I hope to share my passion with you... to spread the art of crochet and knitting... to enjoy the many benefits that these crafts can bring to us.
